Kelechukwu Okwujiako

Kelechukwu Okwujiako is the Head of the Shipping & Dispute Resolution Practice Group at Okwujiako LP.

He has an LL.M in International Maritime and Commercial Law from the Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law, Swansea University, Wales, and has worked with two leading law firms - Mike Igbokwe (SAN) & Co. and Adepetun Caxton-Martins Agbor & Segun - both of which have robust maritime practices.

Kelechukwu advises and represents local and international clients in a wide range of transactions and disputes. Kelechukwu has conducted complex litigation from the trial courts all the way to the Supreme Court, with a known flair for appellate practice and brief writing. He played a central role in the very first case on limitation of liability for maritime claims under the Merchant Shipping Act 2007, securing victory for his client at the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal (the matter is currently at the Supreme Court).
